3-D Angel

A beautful 3-D angel made from white stained glass and silver edging. This piece is about 15cm tall and is finished with a reflective glass bead that shines with shades of pink, red and green. Hand-made by Scottish artist Joe Houston this is a one-off and very unique piece. Each piece comes with a small scroll with the following message "Illuminate your home with the source of all power - the sun...Hand crafted in a wee workshop in Stirling under the watchful eyes of the celtic angels."

Joe Houston
Joe, born in Stirling, worked for years a lorry driver until his health took a turn for the worse. During this time Joe needed something to take his mind of his illness and began working with glass. Joe is a large muscular man, with a real presence, you wouldn't put think the same man could make such delicate and lovingly crafted pieces.
Stained Glass
The term stained glass can refer to coloured glass as a material or to works made from it. Throughout its thousand-year history, the term has been applied almost exclusively to the windows of churches and other significant buildings. Although traditionally made in flat panels and used as windows, the creations of modern stained glass artists also include three-dimensional structures and sculpture.
